Retaking the Fort.

During my holiday in the Netherlands, I visited the 'Fort bij Edam' (the fort near Edam), built in the early 20th century. It was part of the defence ring round Amsterdam.
I's very well preserved, and they had a 'WW2' day, when I was there, including a 'battle to retake the fort.'
Very interesting.

Fantastic....I love how you used black and white......at first, I thought it was a genuine shot from WW2!!!....I have a massive interest in the history of WW2, would have loved to witness the re-enactment!

Contact the fort before you go to Amsterdam for your stag weekend. You might be lucky and there might be 'something' on, and even if there isn't, and they're open, you can have a look round. They have a lot of WW2 communications equipment, for instance.
