Beached Sperm Whale

On May 31st 2011 a sperm whale Weighing 20+tes and 44ft in length was found beached at Redcar. Despite efforts to help it back into the water he died 0905hrs the same day
He had to be left until the next day for tests to be carried out to establish cause of death and reason for beaching, hence the exposed flesh.
