The more I look at this the more I wonder..... But I do somehow like it, a lot.

Wonder about what. It was done by using the wand to eliminate the centre an the marquee surround from the wand is working to 'past into' that area the photo you wish to have in the centre . Then by using the pointer just position you centre photo and the go to ' Flatten layers'. You can see the whole of the photo with out the centre on the gallery
