I'm after a decent free programme that will let me put pics and music together on DVD
I have tried something called photostage slideshow producer but the resulting DVD stopped after 47 pics
(cant remember where I got it from)

Anyone use such a programme?

Alf, if you have windows vista home premium, or ultimate, it comes with windows DVD maker.   Haven't tried it myself, but here's the details.

I don't know of a free one but if you can afford it I can highly recommend Pro Show Gold. It even allows password protected original images to be put on the disk and you can also timeout the ability to play the dvd.

If you have Nero for burning dvd's it can do a not too bad job of making a slideshow too.

I agree Proshow is super. You get a free trial, fully working, for 30 days before paying for it, and it's well worth paying for. A big advantage for me is that it can create a Video CD which will play on most "television type" DVD players - so my Mum, who doesn't have or use a PC, can watch them.
