Adobe PS CC keyboard
« on: May 02, 2014, 03:17:22 PM »
Hi all I have seen a adobe PS CC keyboard, my question is can these be used for other PS programs ie: ps elements, Lightroom, also other adobe image editing software as I only have a right hand it is sometimes hard for me to hit 2 and 3 keys at once unless I ware a very uncomfortable attachment for my left arm,  if these keyboards would work for the short cuts it would be very helpful, the other option would be to go for an apple pc as I believe the short cuts would be a bit easier on an apple system however I not to sure on that and would need more information from somebody whom has had experience with both.

Thanks in advance Geoff

Geoff, as some one who has used both Mac & Windows platforms - i'm sorry to advise that Apple would be no easier than Windows - as keyboard shortcuts would still work with 2 hands needed.

That said, i seem to recall there is a way of customising keyboards to how you want them, and given the ability to buy overlays - you could then get and customise one of these to suit once you had set up your customised short cuts.

I believe the keyboards are program specific because LR and PSElements both work differently to PS.
LR is essentially Adobe Camera Raw with a much better front end and file catalouging system - PSElements is a very stripped down version of PS.
1 body, 1 lens, 1 flash gun, 1 tripod, 1 cable release & 1 filter. Keeping it simple!
(I lied, just got a second lens!)

Geoff why don't you look at getting a gaming keyboard such as a logitech g15  for example which has 6 x3 (18) keys that can be programmed using macros then it would just be 1 or 2 key presses  to do for example ctrl +alt+shift ?

the only thing is you would need to write down which key does what till you can remember them
