If I win - nexts weeks theme will be 'anything BUT Snow, Ice and Water', though it would acrue very few entries due to peoples sodden or frozen weather based predicaments!

Sorry to hear you're under the weather - a nice trip to bed with a couple of quilts, steady supply of hot drinks and lots of TLC off the rest of the family seems to do wonders in such situations.

(I lied, just got a second lens!)

Don't shout about it, the met office is forecasting sunshine next week!  :o

Living on a mountain seems like a good idea for the UK right now!

Busy this weekend, so I've done a quick one on what looks like it'll be the only sunny day this week.  The fields between us and the next Bastide were all under water last weekend, and it had rained a lot more since then. Imagine my disappointment when I went to photograph them only to find that the river had drained the water away. Anyway, in town the Dordogne is still in flood so :

Entry is not going to happen for me this weekend. We are shrouded in smoke from the bushfires south of us and everything is a murky brown and very unattractive. They say it won't lift until next week.

To get rid of smoke you need wind so, eat more beans!  :2funny:

I'd say smoke (and dust, volcanic ash etc) is an aspect of weather, and can add mood/atmosphere to a shot. A photo, even if not attractive, might be very interesting. But maybe it's best not to risk either camera or lungs by getting too close.

(Oddly, since the challenge was posted we've had no weather of note at all locally - it's just damp, grey and unspectacularly miserable. Might get some by the weekend though...)

We get about three or four days of relentless rain and gales, with in between a nice sunny day, just to show us, it is still out there. Somewhere.

Friend of mine emailed recently that Holland had the best January in living memory!

Well, at least it means the giant pumps, that churn out almost two tons of water per second, are not needed in the Netherlands at the moment, and so can do their best for those poor people in the Somerset levels.

Such a nice day today and this stood out against the blue sky, more of what is around the corner with any luck.

Better still, just dump all the useless politicians and quangos in Somerset - it may stop being level but at least it will be dry. Politicians and Qunagos are good at soaking up the sh*t!

Some are still wet behind the ears, so they may add to the troubles.

OK, we'll exclude the 'wets'  :D and put some councilors in to replace them  :o

OK I have entered my shot, simply called 'Rain'. A bit of an arty shot. Tried window drops, wet roofs, drips on washing lines, people walking in the rain but felt this simple, arty shot was the best of the bunch.
