CHAT - Photograph a Stranger - Jan 6-12, 2014

Before you all go .. 'aaaaah, I don't do that', or 'we are not allowed to do this in our country', read on. Many of you seem interested in street photography, and this is a chance to step outside the comfort zone. I am not asking you to go up to a complete stranger and photograph them (unless you want to).

Any interpretation of the theme will be accepted, this can be cyclists in the street, people on park benches, people in a parade, race, in a café, it can be front, back, in the distance, whatever. The only requirement is that you do not know the name of one person in the photo.

No restrictions on Post Processing.

Pictures to be taken between 00.01am Monday 6th January to 23:59 Sunday 12th January, 2014.
Pictures to be posted in the entries thread no later than 23.59pm Monday 13 January 2014.
Poll will be up Tuesday 14th January, 2014.
Winner to be announced Saturday 18th January, 2014.

The Rules for the weekly competition are...

By entering you agree to take responsibility to
Post a topic on the Sunday following your declared win
Create an entries thread
Create a chat thread
Create a poll for that weeks comp and declare the winner on the Saturday
(if for any reason there is a problem and no subject is posted by the winner by Monday night admin will advise second place winner to post the topic asap, do the poll etc.)

In case of a tie, the first entry posted wins.

Photos to be taken during the specified dates, ie Monday xx to Sunday xx

Pictures to be posted in the entries thread no later than 23.59 Monday night.

Yeah, I shoot strangers on a regular basis. Here's hoping for better weather, as gales and rain may keep them indoors, and I don't want to risk my camera either.
You can of course take shots indoors, but you have to be a bit careful as that is not 'public space' where anyone, and everyone, is fair game!

I'll nip into town today and shoot off a few score of people in the street, should fit the bill. Perhaps one would be *stranger* than the others.

Gets confusing, there's one comp running, one where you are urged to vote and another one that's somewhere in the future. Perhaps that why people are reluctantt to enter, they are somewhat puzzled?

Just had a look at my L/Room catalogue for pictures tagged "people", there's only 1457 images there,  all strangers, so I don't think I'll be adding to that number.

I think it`s just time at this time of year. There`s just one running now (extended ) and the other to come that I can see with no voting just now. Been so hectic entertaining / taking back unwanted pressies / buying new ones and learning my ukelele for me to get an entry. Had one in mind ukelele related and then saw a facebook contact do virtually the shot I had envisaged with a guitar so probably none from me this week.

I'm sorry if you are confused, perhaps a little too much good wine over Christmas and New Year. The current theme (New Years Resolution) went for 2 weeks to cover the holiday break (entries close midnight Sunday 5th), and this one is the next in line. You can start shooting people (photographically) after Monday 6th January

Good theme, sounds easy enough to find the subject! The reason I haven't been entering isn't because it's too confusing it's simply been lack of time, not sure why others haven't been!
