keeping up the international standard
« on: January 30, 2009, 06:10:51 PM »
Hi all !

Just joined up today. I found the DCM Forum really nice and friendly to decided to give this a go and am really pleased to see so many known "faces".

Unlike "ClactonDave" I thought I'd use the same nick as DCM and flickr  ;)

I'm "just" a housewife living near Frankfurt in Germany. I spend my time with my dogs, Polly and Mickey (the little white chappie in the avatar), and belong to a very active animal rescue organisation dealing with street dogs in Romania (www.brunopet.de if your'e interested and/or need some practice reading german  ;) ) Oh, and wandering around with a black thing with Nikon written on it.

Hope the weekend competition can be continued here - thanks Mick !

Hi Carol, welcome to the site... don't ever go on holiday to Portugal or you will be joining another rescue effort...  :'(

We called him Scruff, he was well looked after by the village and was adopted by someone

Hi !

We tend to avoid holidays in southern Europe, amongst other things because we take our dogs with us on holiday and I'm wary of Leishmaniose (not sure if that's the right spelling in english) spread by sandflies around the Med. I've been to Suceava in the north east of Romania 6 times (without the dogs) - I've seen enough there to last a lifetime.

We stick to Cornwall and Bavaria. English seaside and German mountains - much healthier  ;)
