The secret is out, not that it was much of a secret anyway!

Just been watching a Paxman interview with love him or hate him Damien Hirst, as part of the PR splurge pre his Tate Modern retrospective.

A phrase Hirst uses a short way in, "I can schmooze a gallery director to show my work", just about sums it all up for me. Don't sell your work just dress it up with as much b...sh..t as you can and schmooze away.

How often when you read an artist's mission statement does it include the words "recognised as one of the leading exponents of this genre, I.......". Recognised by whom other than him/herself ::)
