I've been following the comments here, but couldn't really add anything sensible myself, which hadn't already been said. I went exactly the same way as Paul.

I don't think you'll regret it, it is a lovely camera :)

i'm certain i will, what is it with just wanting without needing? the d300 is more than i need but the chance of a d700 is just right there and i took it
