I've seen the tales of woe about foreign firms but what about one from the uk. delays, lies & being ignored.

We decided to buy a TV for the bedroom & found a good deal on a Panasonic at Bennett's with a £30 off code, tried click and collect but were told the voucher is only available online, so for a max 7 day wait, £30 off & free delivery we made the order. After 7 days - nothing, so we sent an email, waited 24hrs - nothing, then called them, put on hold then cut off 3 times before getting through "its in the warehouse but the couriers are busy with weather and large amount of orders it will be be with you in a couple of days". Then we had a reply to the email "sorry its out of stock, Panasonic offices closed due to bad weather".
I could accept the delay excuse but to get two conflicting explanations made me think they were trying to take me for a tw*t so I fired off another email (copied in the MD) telling them what i thought of their service without being rude & asking for a confirmed date or a refund, this was ignored as well. 2 days later the wife rang with the intention of getting a refund but was promised delivery by the end of the week, it finally arrived today - 18 days after placing the order that should have been with us within 7.
I don't know what the stores are like & don't intend to find out now but the online service is the worst.

there aren't many things worse than bad service, even more so when your waiting for a new something or other, ahh well, they are 1 new customer short after your story.
Who wanted dry roasted with their pint?
