File Recovery help required

Alf, I am pleased that it worked for you. I am sorry I can't remember if they came through as tiffs when I last used it, were they RAW images or jpegs to start with as that may influence what they come back as? Copy one of the recovered images and then change the file extension to what you shot (jpg / nef /cr2 or whatever) and then try opening that, it may just be that ZAR has appended the wrong file extension.

Hi mate
The original files were NEF raw files.
I have opened the recovered files in CS2, LR2 and Ele5 and all is ok.

That's great news. No need for a large one (although it wouldn't go amiss) that is what forums are supposed to be for IMHO helping each other.

good news :)   the pixelated version of the shot may just be an embedded jpeg in the raw file, dont know if nikon raws do that but canon do iirc
