Well, last day for taking pictures and I am still wondering how to make mud, and overcast sky, and leafless trees look attractive. So I gave up, going for an interior shot instead.

You've got an indoor back yard?

Sorry, misread that. So no entry from me then. The only things within one mile are leafless trees, a muddy road and muddy fields. That's what you get for living at the end of a track in the country :)

Bare trees can still make a great photo at dusk.

You can always 'jazz up' a miserable mud shot.

Welcome back kerry.

Good to see you again Kerry!

I do not have my own back yard, so I looked for a photo taken within 1 mile of your own home and found this, just down the road.

I live in a road, that used to be full of large, and even larger, Victorian and Edwardian (semi) detached houses. Captain Smith of the Titanic, used to live here. Over the decades, most were replaced by smallish blocks of flats (I live in one of those), with quite a bit of space around them for parking, garages, and a garden.

Since the 'Buy to Let' boom however, there has been a rush to build large blocks of, often cheaply built, 'luxury apartments,' (all appearance, no substance), with only a token bit of greenery, and not enough storage space for the most necessary things like ironing boards and vacuum cleaners. And for the younger generation things like surf boards. Typical 'halfway houses' for temporary occupation, not permanent living.

I was sad, when they started to demolish this one too, till I discovered, the owner is actually restoring it, to let out to a family.
An almost identical house, diagonally across the road, was also bought by him and has already been restored. He and his family live there themselves, while having another house built. It will also be let to a family, once they move out.

I'm thrilled to bit with this development, as you can guess.

This is my entry:
