There are some great shots here if you click on the little cross hair thingy on the bottom r/h side it will open as full page, I'm guessing most if not all of these would have been captured on glass plate negs...Have a look though makes you realise how easy we have it now by comparison...

And as a note my pater started off using glass plates alas all his stuff was antiques and fine art not "street" and nobody wanted the negs, we finally managed to offload them to a collector but no museum was remotely interested in them at all
