Title: A Special Treat for Photographers
Post by: ABERS on December 11, 2013, 08:49:40 AM
What a treat for the eye! Photography from the past that shows just how it should be done. No picture post cards, no chocolate box tops just wonderful grainy B+W's of life all around at the time.

Nice stuff Abers thanks for posting. The kid shots remind me of my time in Agra when no parents / others tried to stop me shooting  around me when the kids were playing in the streets as would happen in UK now half the time!

Thanks for the link Alan. Classic photography. I feel deeply resentful of the PC culture we have these days which has effectively outlawed documentary photography by ordinary citizens. Alas, at least in Europe and now increasingly in the US, this kind of photography really is of the past; nostalgic in more ways than one.

Although I suppose that on the bright side the cameras in 'phones (thank you Nokia) are becoming more and more capable and no-one seems have latched on to the fact that you can take decent pictures with one, despite the plethora of activity on Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest and the like.
