I've been messing around the past few days with leaves and other things found in the garden, not photographing them but scanning them. It's not something new, there are books written on the technique, and I've dabbled with it in the past, but I was surprised that with the right subject, what could be achieved.

It was quite an interesting exercise with a little PS and L/room finagling. I've built up a small portfolio of such images, which, when printed up and presented in the right way could make an interesting panel of pictures.

When you watch Antiques Roadshow quite often somebody turns up with a huge book containing hand drawn coloured illustrations of flora and fauna from around the world, and this reminded me of that.

I'm off down the garden centre to see what exotic leaves I can nick off the plants down there to expand the collection.
