Title: Love this song
Post by: Jediboy on February 14, 2022, 09:13:17 PM
This is a song from one of my favourite bands.
A simple yet powerful video that really got to me.

Oh Mark, I'm sorry.

It was quick when it came - and not expected. Very sad, but it is one of the things that is a definite.

Sorry about your sad news. Going so quick is a great shock, but at least they didn't suffer. My prays and best wishes to you all.  :'(

Sorry for your family's loss Mark. A difficult time but you have each other and your happy memories.

Thanks all, and many happy memories as we went on holiday at least once a year for 12 years or so with her and FIL before he died in 2020.

In a week or so's time, when all the rushing around has finished and the funeral is over, you can sit down, relax and think of all the happy times you spent together. It's like they are always there still with you.

Without wishing to up the emotions, this is my favourite song in this genre:

Megson. Follow it On.

The lyric is ambivalent, unclear as to the leaving, but a beautiful melody and a wonderful sentiment.

Folk music was very much my roots, along with a bit of jazz, and, of course, orchestral. I'm a big fan of Megson.

These days I am very much a symphonic rock person - Nightwish and Kamelot are my favourites, especially Nightwish:
Examples Nightwish - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pVPTUEW1PEM  and a bit a harder https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4sqQmeJgOPM . If you have the time try their concert with Richard Dawkins - something special.
Kamelot - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IWDALIOzXNk (they have a different singer now, not quite as good, and the lady is a guest for the duet - she's married to the keyboard player)

There you are, that's your day ruined then . . .
