Camera Craniums: The Photography Community for Enthusiasts

Anyone thinking of  making a few changes in the New Year? Apart from the usual ones of getting thinner and  fitter I am trying to convince myself to finally get rid of my Nikon D700 and lenses. It remains in a cupboard virtually unused since I have grown to love my lightweight Fuji mirrorless set up. I keep deciding yes I will and then realise that i`ll get so little for it and maybe I should hold onto it for when it comes into it`s own. My  Fuji still struggles with high speed action but then I shoot so little of that of late. I reckon if I sold all of my Nikon gear and lenses I`d probably have enough to get a Fuji macro lens or maybe, if I do well on the lenses, a 100-400 zoom but then I`d have more gear than I`d want to carry at one time. maybe I should resolve to be more decisive in the New Year :D

Never make resolutions. That's the only one I ever make :)

I don't make new years resolutions either. I used to buy stopped when I realised that I never kept them.
I enjoy fitness training all year round, but would like to do more photography and more piano practice. But they're not resolutions.

My only resolution - is to work less. But I doubt that will happen.

Can't remember my New Year resolutions except one. That was to give up smoking and I'm still smoke free. Mind you, the desire for just one more ciggy is still with me and, I doubt it will ever go away.  ::)

My dad smoked - a legacy of national service where they were given a pack a day - and also an american allowance because he was stationed in Bavaria.

He became a school teacher and burnt 60 a day apparently (Burnt as he lit one in the stock room, then went to teach and came back to a stub) Thats the story anyway!

He did give up in the end though - in the 70's I think - but still said he could sometimes taste a fag and still wanted one 30 years later. Never did though - and used to tell the kids he was still addicted to them. He also knew where all the kids hanged out for a sneaky fag.
