CHAT - White on White - Weekly Challenge 25th Dec to 1st Jan 2017
This week's theme is White on White, It is in the hope that we will get some frost/snow this winter. I like this challenge, because it is white on white and not grey or blue on either. It shows that with a digital camera you have to overexpose rather then underexpose with film. It also will show you how many shades of white there are.
No restrictions on PP.
Pictures to be taken preferably between now and Sunday 1st January 2017, 23:59, but if you find yourself at a loss in this time period, please enter something from your personal archives.
Pictures to be posted in the entries thread no later than 23:59pm Monday 2nd January 2017.
Poll will be up Tuesday 3rd January 2017.
Winner to be announced Saturday 7th January 2017.
The Rules for the weekly competition are...
By entering you agree to take responsibility to
Post a topic on the Sunday (or sooner) following your declared win
Create an entries thread
Create a chat thread
Create a poll for that weeks comp and declare the winner on the Saturday
(if for any reason there is a problem and no subject is posted by the winner by Monday night admin will advise second place winner to post the topic asap, do the poll etc)
In case of a tie, the first entry posted wins.
I have struggled with this theme due to the warm and damp weather limiting my opportunities to get out! However the fog and frost this morning did provide a chance to take my entry. You will have to decide if it matches the theme or not! It does have at least frost, fog and a almost white pony in it.

Could I ask for a clarification of the dates? As written, I can enter until midnight Monday 2nd January, but the result will be announced two days before that, the poll being posted two days after the result; and the photo is preferably taken one day before the last entry date.
Sorry to be a pedant, but it isn't clear when the competition ends.
Good spot Stephen. I've amended the two threads.
I managed to get a couple of shots in a brief and not very hard frost earlier this week. If I can't make anything of them then I'll be looking at a mountain shot too.
:-[ OOps, Sorry about that folks, Thanks for rectifying the dates Howard.
If I could be a pedant too, something I`ve not really understood since the rules changed to allow back catalogue shots is- Why do shots have to be taken by the Sunday night whilst entries can be made up to Monday midnight? The Sunday night rule was to limit shooting only to the weekend but given we can go back to any date with old shots it seems harsh to end it on the Sunday now. I know a couple of times we have agreed to squeeze late ones in but equally I know that a couple of times when I have failed to motivate myself to get a shot done by the Sunday I could easily have done one on the Monday and entered after all and submitted by the deadline. Just a thought.
I have yet to take / look up an old shot either. have one in mind for which I may use my newly arived twin lens Fuji XT10 that arrived 10 minutes ago if my wife gives me permission to leave household chores for guests arriving later to do one. the battery is on charge at least! Well pleased that I managed to get my back up , grey import D7000 traded in through WEX with an enhanced trade in value. They dropped me £10 on account of serial number being missing (as per grey imports) but did not seem to spot the sometimes erratic focusing whuich had been the subject of two attempted repairs under warranty. If you see a used D7000 on WEX don`t be tempted.
No time to do the planned shot so a reworked old one usding a few techniques new to me t9o get some snow added. Every Boxing day there is charity cricket match . A few years back they got the snow they always want to see - played havoc with the scores though!

Bit late uploading my shot as I forgot yesterday. :uglystupid2:
It's white light from the Sun defused through white clouds.
