RED TOP:CHAT THREAD
ENTRIES THREAD IS HERE (http://cameracraniums.com/forum/index.php?topic=4696.msg54307;topicseen#new)
Theme for this week is RED TOP. Any image where the top of the frame features something or someone of a shade of red. There's a huge scope in this, from matchsticks to sunrises, from redheads to red roofs. So keep your eye out for something that fits the bill. Edit any way you like, but make the red really pop if you feel inclined. Or subtle, it's up to you.
Pictures to be taken preferably between now and Sunday 16th October 2016, 23:59, or enter one from your Personal / Camera Cranium Archives if you prefer. Pictures to be posted in the entries thread no later than 23:59pm Monday 17th October 2016. Poll will be up Tuesday 18th October 2016.
Winner to be announced Saturday 22nd October 2016.
The Rules for the weekly competition are...
By entering you agree to take responsibility to
Post a topic on the Sunday (or sooner) following your declared win
Create an entries thread
Create a chat thread
Create a poll for that weeks comp and declare the winner on the Saturday
(if for any reason there is a problem and no subject is posted by the winner by Monday night admin will advise second place winner to post the topic asap, do the poll etc)
In case of a tie, the first entry posted (or earliest archive shot if applicable) wins.
Interesting. Wearing a red top today, but I don't like selfies. Will keep eyes open for something else red.
Got to be my least favourite colour red! Hmmm....

Then (try to) show your distaste in a photograph.
The Red roofs in Robin Hood Bay. The smuggled goods came mostly out of the Low Lands (Holland and Belgium.) The red tiles were used as ballast in the boats, and the ballast was unloaded in the bay to get to shallower water. Hence the red roofs as is common in Holland.

They're very Dutch looking roofs indeed!
If I still can't get out for a new image, with this flipping foot, this (quite recent one) might be my entry. It was taken at the same time as my lovely red berries image that won the comp a couple of weeks ago. A different approach, a different type of berry, but deffo a 'Red Top'

I went to my first Cropredy festival last summer. Fantastic entertainment and already booked for next year though I am sure the weather will not be as good. Folk music plus other genres- at it`s best.
I am still not back to 'proper' photography, at the moment, I still only shoot at my weekly volunteering day.
It is not very original, but it has a red top.

It looks a little dim in thumbnail - have a look at it full sized . . and it is still a little gloomy, but hopefully conveys what I was hoping for. I edited this entirely using Photo Director 7 - one of the programmes I have been trying out to hopefully replace Lightroom. The good news is that it is a really easy to use and effective editor. The bad news is that the keyword tagging is next to useless.
I'm starting a thread to discuss LR alternatives.
