I can see lots of two fingers entries! :-[ :P
2 or 1 will do so long as they are connected to a hand ;)
OOOoooo, I have a few ideas up my sleeve (or in my glove!)
I have no ideas at all, but I'll take the camera down to our local store and find a weathered farmer - not sure how he will feel with a 'excuse me but can I photograph your hands!!!'
Go for it Jen, if you don't ask you don't get ;)
If you explain you are doing a 'project,' most people are happy to oblige.

Have to be very quick as the fist comes towards you!!!! :P :o
Well I had an idea but now no time to do it and post it. The rest of the day will be taken up chasing details about an accident my daughter had in my car last night :'(. One of those things but at least no-one was hurt. BMW hit her seemingly cutting across in front of her on a roundabout but blamed her saying she was in the wrong lane. My daughter was in the left lane going around the roundabout to take the turning straight ahead of her entry point. the 3rd exit but straight on and thus bang in line with Highway code. Seems if someone else decides you are in the wrong lane they can smash you up!
Anyway with that to deal with then off to Cornwall tomorrow with limited , if any wifi next week looks like I`ll sit this one out. I`ve a neat idea to sell if anyone is interested ;)

Glad nobody was hurt.
A lot of drivers haven't got a clue about the highway code and, most of them learned their driving overseas. Most private hire drivers think they are allowed to go through lights that are red, like emergency vehicles, or that appears to be the case in Birmingham. >:(

Picking ones nose is very rude and shouldn't be photographed and displayed. :o :P

Damn you guessed it oldboy. No it was a multi exposure merger of hands in shapes making a final picture of an owl - go figure

Too much effort and editing! I'd go for the nose picking, if I can spot it happening somewhere. Most of my shots are taken 'on the hoof' and require minimal editing. I've almost lost the knack of working with layers.
Maybe I should try it again soon?
Well I have a couple of shots but nothing too great, maybe as it is raining today I will get some shots done indoors, Jan has just found a pair of handcuffs ????, don't ask.
Just to recap the subject is HANDS (plural) ONLY, HUMAN ONES PLEASE, hope that there is some processing going on as this thread is quite quiet.
Been struggling for time & inspiration so far this week. Have a little plan for later so fingers crossed it will come off.
Handcuffs, just happen to be lying around in your house huh Jeff? lol
Did a bit of mucking about with the only hands available to me - mine.
I'll post my other attempt in a little bit of a short while, but for now, despite its embarrassing lack of originality is my entry. I had fun doing it . .
Left Handies, or Show of Hands, or a Fistful of Fingers:

:'( Now withdrawn, as it only one hand.

Aargh! First exam rule - read the question.
Already finding this one tricky - back to drawing board! :(
Yes teacher.
I've removed my planned entry and replaced it with another one. Even so there are other things in the picture apart from hands - does that meet your requirements? Or is it hands, plural, only? If so, then I respectfully withdraw; no time to do anything else.
Howard, your hand'S are fine, the hands can be doing anything. I was just trying to get away from people holing the camera in one hand and taking a picture or their other hand doing something and clock/watch hands were inevitable so tried to eliminate these as well.
The other thought behind this weeks theme was to keep the subject matter narrow and see what different views we got.
I've got a small collection of hands at the ready. Two shots of just hands (one pair is doing something), a series of hands with arms attached, and hands holding a piece of paper. (Shy girl hiding.)
Also had Howard's shot, only with female hands. Sadly a cable from the mike was in front of the guitar and one hand. It proved quite difficult to remove, so I happily gave up on that.
I think the shy girl shows too much body, so I'll upload her just for fun, not for the competition.
Are arms okay? No problem if they aren't, as it narrows down the choice!
Here's my Shy Girl, that I decided not to enter.

I have been playing with a Dragan Effect on Mum's hands, to emphasise the wrinkles...another mono image, my 3rd or 4th in a row....not sure why every image I take looks better in mono.
Not sure if this is the final entry.

"Monomania," I regularly suffer from it too.
Love monochrome shots.
Monomania...love it! Great word
Nice take Chris, love it and yes arms are ok
Its grainy due to high iso to stop blur as mum has a form of parkinsons and she shakes terribly and fast shutter speed is required. Especially her head. Its called essential tremor and today was the 1st time in years she threaded the needle. It had a big eye but she did it.
I had a 'guitar hands' image, and I also have an 'old lady's hands' image!
Two images left: one 'with arms attached,' and one 'doing something.'
Decisions, decisions!

Why on earth withdraw the only creative image to date Howard? I'm surprised we haven't seen the old chestnuts of wrinkled hand holding a baby's, elderly hands grasping a walking stick etc.etc. Put it back up, you'll have one certain vote.
Having just read this, my photo doesn't meet the brief so no entry from me this week.
Is it not back to what's been said before, 'its the voter that decides if it meets the brief'?
Hands is plural and the withdrawn image had several hands.....
I think my image is the sort of thing Jeff was hoping to avoid- a photo of my 'spare' hand next to some clock hands.
I'll pay more attention to the brief in future to avoid any confusion.

Howard's image immediately brought the 'Tree of Hands' to my mind; a rather disturbing Ruth Rendell novel I read decades ago.
I'm in with a "Show of Hands" (and arms).
Jeff asked for hands, so I give him hands!

Are you trying to influence the outcome of a vote Abers? OK, fair enough, I'm re-entering the first idea, even though I think it is rather lacking in originality. I do think it is the more 'fun' picture though. ;)

Would I do such a thing? ::)
Mind you, when I go past the bookies tomorrow I might nip in and have a little tickle on the result!
I've seen many a hand look like this in the more rural and remote parts, where cars are still pointed at and things are very quiet of an evening.

Deepest Somerset could also be included ????
Decided to change my entry of only right hands, to a proper pair of hands. Probably apt for a photo competition too.
So it is now this one:
Bejewelled hands
