CHAT THREAD
This week's theme is Personal Best
I just want to see your best / favourite shot of the week that you have taken. Simple as that - anything goes and you can process it any way you like. No excuse for not entering - the difficulty will be in the judging across a broad theme that amounts to best in show.
Pictures to be taken between posting time Saturday 23rd August 2014 to 23:59 Sunday 31st August 2014.
Pictures to be posted in the entries thread no later than 23.59pm Monday 1st September 2014.
Poll will be up Tuesday 2nd September 2014.
Winner to be announced Saturday 6th September 2014.
The Rules for the weekly competition are...
By entering you agree to take responsibility to
Post a topic on the Sunday following your declared win
Create an entries thread
Create a chat thread
Create a poll for that weeks comp and declare the winner on the Saturday
(if for any reason there is a problem and no subject is posted by the winner by Monday night admin will advise second place winner to post the topic asap, do the poll etc.)
In case of a tie, the first entry posted wins.
Photos to be taken during the specified dates, ie date at which the new topic is set xx to Sunday xx
Might be difficult as my personal best is always my next shot! ::)
No excuses for no entry then this time. Great idea. Might get the numbers up

Easy - go out Monday to take your best planned shot and then enter Tuesday`s.
Can't remember, if the previous 'Best in Show' competition attracted more entries than normal. Will be a varied bunch though.
Have nothing really planned yet, so, if I take the camera out, it may have to be the best of the usual run of the mill things.

That's no good, as it might be raining and dull Tuesday! :'(

Ten entries for Best in Show last time and 20 votes, a little above the average of late.
"Usual run of the mill things"??!!. Could be a good title for a discussion thread. :legit:

Start one Alan!
Unless I go out to photograph something specific, I take my camera when out and about, and just shoot what I come across. Often people.
It's not everyday, I have the honour to meet someone really special, but it happened on Friday.
An old man, but
what an old man!

reinardina he's fantastic
Hmm. I always struggle with the wide open themes like this. I think I will take the opportunity to photograph something that's on my personal wish list...
Great to see an entry from you Abers. Im struggling this week as only been out once with camera. But nothing stands out from the bunch of images I took, apart from one landscape but not sure it's strong enough as an entry, landscapes not being my thing at all.
Always hard to choose your own-self personal best ,but this was a quick shot that grabbed my immediate attention for ease in processing
Mountains Timed - The art in timing the shot with a moving camera can be great fun.

It wasn't too difficult for me. Apart from some 'work' (volunteers) shots, I only took two pictures.
This one is of a decaying cabin/shed that I visit on a more or less regular basis, just to see how it is 'getting on.'
Well, it isn't getting on at all! Nature is taking over, and it is now hard to get to it.
This is it:
Haunted (by me)

This is what it looked like in April 2012.

Please keep taking the images of here - its great to see the rot, decay and neglect of time.
Gone for something a bit different, HDR Bay Watch could be a "MARMITE" picture :-\

Here's my entry, named 'Blot On My Landscape' as locally the pylons are everywhere, being on the National Grid. I embrace them and emphasise them.

Not sure if my best of the week. Been touring a little and not home until late tonight. Editing on t he hoof within limits of what I have available on my tablet and as I have so many "straight" images of Sycamore Gap on th Roman Wall I thought I'd put this up.(http://cameracraniums.com/gallery/albums/userpics/10154/normal_14095540927691.jpg) (http://cameracraniums.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pid=16491&fullsize=1)
Not a Hockney iPad sketch but a Jinky Nexus sketch ;-)

I like it. As it happens, I too have been 'creative' this weekend. Just about to upload something from my 'blue' period, partially inspired by old Pablo.
10 entries so far, thats excellent.
