That will take some getting used to! You probably cannot lock them either.
Maybe a relic from the communist era? After all, in those days people often had to share tiny apartments with two, sometimes three families. They may have had communal loos too.
I can feel a 'bog' theme for a weekly competition coming up!!

At Hampton Court they try and give a historical twist to the place by suggesting that the walls have witnessed some amazing events over time by posting signs saying, 'If Only Walls Could Talk'. On using the facilities I noticed they had even put a couple up in the urinals, and the mind boggles at what those wall could perhaps tell. ::)
