I have the camera set to Vivid, yet when I import photos into Lightroom, they come in vivid for about a second then Lightroom shows the colours muted. Is it the camera or some setting in Lightroom? Any Sony/Lightroom experts got a solution?
Is it a jpeg or raw file? 8)
RAW
The Vivid setting will only affect the jpg files and probably the thumbnails, but will not affect the RAW files. The thumbnails appear briefly during import, before being updated by the RAW information. Once you've processed the RAW files, the thumbnails should appear the same as the processed version.

Simon's right, the RAW file is just that, RAW. I learned a similar lesson with my Panasonic LX5, taking pictures in black and white mode. They imported into LR looking the way they should for a few hundred milliseconds and then they went green, because I guess the RAW file only had the green channel.
Take some snaps in RAW+JPEG to see this at work.
Makes sense when you put it that way. I'll test a bunch of jpg's. But I expect it'll turn out as you guys have mentioned. Thx.
