Title: On Ice
Post by: Beaux Reflets on January 26, 2013, 08:26:14 PM
Not quiet happy with the first edit of "On Ice" I did a second version; To try and throw the Ice and Catkin detail forward, without divorcing it from the background. More about that here http://cameracraniums.com/forum/index.php?page=Burning-Desire

I would be interested to hear / know your opinion, so please vote for your preferred edit A or B and or feel free to throw in a critique (good or bad) if you desire.

Thank you

Both shots are good, in my opinion. But, for me, I prefer version B as the ice seems more punchier than A. The amount of burning is just right and not too much.

At this image size I can't see any difference between the two shots sorry.

On my monitor they appear to be identical - whether or not I wear my glasses.

They differ quite a lot - You can view them side by side without the need to scroll here http://cameracraniums.com/forum/index.php?page=Burning-Desire

I know Mick has a calibration test strip on one of his sites - I will see if I can find it on here.

Cheers for your response, always appreciated.

Andy I can see the difference and prefer the second. Overall the shot does not do a lot for me though with the two strands above the berry distracting me on the shots. Oversall the background is distracting for me but I agree that the burning you have done has helped draw out the foreground detail a little.

Many thanks Paul, and noting your comment about the strands running into the bud, much appreciated  If that aspect now bugs me I will no doubt re-edit
