Oh dear, will this rain never end? Anyway, it encouraged me to try a table-top shot.
And it took ages to put the ball back together afterwards.
good theme, plenty of scope
Have had a wee go (as Matthew would say) and played around with the shots I took. Not sure yet how promising they look; am getting too tired to see properly.
Will have a go this week. Have a couple of ideas to try. Exciting and unusual theme TBH.
aha i got my entry already!
Suddenly realised I'm 'fully booked' for the next three days, so put my entry in now. I have been playing around with it, but this was one of the first manipulations and I like it best.
It is, as asked for, a household object 'alienated.'
The Force.

Wotcars, your image was my 1st idea but my 'item' didn't have the good pattern yours did so I binned it!
My original idea was 2 hair dryers mullfed at the rear to get the heater elements glowing so they would look like the rear end of a jet plane but my daughter decided to go away the week end so had to bin that idea and the only other idea was the one I entered :)
Well, my entry is in - please excuse the obvious fact that there were no Polaroid pictures in 1952*(nor flying saucers for that matter) and that I used fingerprint and coffee splats from my own set of adornments, so they weren't taken today.
* can that: according to Wikipedia the first Polaroid Land cameras were launched in 1948, so this is definitely a genuine image after all. Oh ye of little faith ;)

I was trying to emulate the obviously fake images of the postwar era. I had fun doing it.
The flying saucer is a glass saucepan lid covered in tin foil which I hung from a pole. I took that picture separately from the witnesses and merged them in PP. The image processing was done in Elements and Photoplus, mostly the latter.
As a point of interest (or not if you have a life) Mrs H is holding a Kinex Cadet camera which were manufactured between 1950 and 1952.

Very clever and some interesting history.
A bit rushed but in with a little relaxing fun. Yummie
