Title: new iPad (or similar devices) - for photo editing
Post by: SimonW on March 08, 2012, 12:56:08 PM
I've really no experience of iPads and the like (or even smartphones). Can anyone say how useful the iPad might be for photo editing on the move (using the new iPhoto App)?

How easy is it to move files from a "real" camera into such a device?

It has its limitations but I use mine all the time for photos stuff. There are tons of apps for photo editing, some like photoshop, some a bit more wacky, you can even do layer adjustments in some apps very similar to Photoshop.

The photos on my iphone automatically sync to my iPad whenever I'm at home (through wifi). The iPad can handle RAW files off my Canon 5D MkII without problem. If you get the camera connection kit you get two connectors, one for an SD memory card and the other for a USB port so you can connect a card or camera to it and import them into the iPad.

The camera on the iPad is pretty measly compared to the iPhone so I don't bother with it, especially as my iphone photos end up on the ipad without any intervention from me anyway

I'm not familiar with the iPhoto App, but if you want any other app recomendations I can oblige
