Just found this, free for a year. Email addresses as well. Only one page for free but it will be good to learn for a year then decide if its worth keeping. I have registered canonuk.eu

Ive had a looksy at it and registered but I can not for the life of me find a way for creating the "free" home page.
Chosen a user name and a email addy but thats as far as I can get
You have to wait for an email to confirm your details then go to the top of page to your control panel. Got mine working but already its limited - one page is not much to play with. http://www.canonuk.eu/

Seems I became a little obsessed with having a website, found I have some free webspace with talktalk and downloaded Serif web starter and made another website. Originally I was going to use it to add pages to the 1st freebie as it only allowed 1 page. Constructive criticism more than welcome, I am sure there are improvements i can make.

Talking of free hosting, you could try this one,
Seems pretty good, just built another testsite on it. Has good features for a free host, and enough space for a decent portfolio / or even a forum etc.
- 1500 MB of Disk Space
- 100 GB Bandwidth
- Your own domain hosting
- cPanel Control panel
- Website Builder
- Over 500 website templates ready for download
- Free POP3 Email Box and Webmail access
- FTP and Web based File Manager
- PHP, MySQL, Perl, CGI, Ruby.
- No Ads at all !
Check it out Here: http://www.000webhost.com/558795.html
Plus loads of other stuff you would normally get with paid hosting.
