Never mind I have voted now anyway. Some nice shots
Lovely picture though Paul. Warms the cockles of my heart seeing someone shut a cat out in the rain.
Ours is still as mental as ever. Scared of, in no particular order, vacuum cleaners, bin bags, cotton wool pads, ironing boards and his own shadow. He's not too sure about magpies either. But at least we do let him in the house.
I think you'll find the raindrops are on this side of the glass...It's Jinky who's shut out!
Graham. :)
Voted and good luck all, some inventive stuff there.
Another good race this week - Bump
Andy, your turn to set the challenge! Congratulations!
Is over the top editing allowed for the weekly competition on CC?
I just uploaded a still life that I did for the comp 'on the other site,' (which must surely win, judging by the reactions on Flickr! Bet it doesn't though). I often take close ups, and I often do some heavy editing, but I never know how far I can go for the competition on CC.
Can someone enlighten me?
Well done Andy and Howard - geat shots :)

Reinardina, as far as I'm concerned go as far as you want with the editing until you get the shot the way you want it. The only caveat to that is if the one setting the theme makes some restrictions on what can or cannot be edited/post processed.
So go for it!!!!
Sorry Howard. Well done to you too of course! You actually got my vote; I was too afraid, you might come after me, if I didn't.
Congratulation Andy and Howard, both great shots at different ends of the spectrum!!

Thanks Mike. I was never quite sure, as most people on this site are 'proper photographers' while, what I sometimes do, is more akin to artistry.
So be prepared for some over the top stuff! Depending on the subject and restrictions of course.
Well done both.
Thank you, and thank you to all who voted  Good to see another close run race this week (that will teach me to post early :2funny: )
I will post the next challenge when I have had a wee think ;D
I think that's the first time I did'nt pick the winner! :( ( I went for "Portsmouth Dawn".)
Suprised Reinardina did'nt get a vote, that was my second choice.
Graham.

Probably because it was the same dawn!
Pleased to know I was your second choice, or rather my picture was.
Well done Andy, getting in there first . .
I almost voted for Andy's too, but like Graham went for Portsmouth Dawn. The colours are all just so complimentary.
As for editing, I agree anything goes unless specifically excluded. But you know what a fuss determining the exact meanings of exclusions can start. So restrictions are best avoided IMHO.
Just working on my good news picture at the moment.

Thanks for the vote Graham
Thank you also to whoever gave me the other two votes.

Don't remind me of the 'exact meanings of exclusions,' and the firestorm that followed! It still hurts.

I'm not bitter about being chastised for cloning out dust spots from my sensor - much >:( >:(
Dirty boy !
Well done Andy and Howard! Look forward to the next theme.
Well done, the pair of you!
Right ... we talking exclusions then ;) ::) :-[ :-X :-\  :legit:

At least here, in grown up and polite society, we can talk about it without getting embroiled in slanging matches!
And here, no one asked me for a shorter version of my name, because the 'long version is so difficult!'
And consequently, I don't mind how people want to call me. Rather enjoy the different versions, that are now around here and on Flickr.
To be honest, it was the person who asked, that made me refuse rather bluntly.
