I there are still a few other Pentax DSLR owners hereabouts; this is for you.
As you probably know software like Lightroom and Capture one offer tethered shooting with most Cankon cameras. There is no support for Pentax from the big boys.
This is where PK_Tether (http://www.pktether.com/) comes in. It is freeware, with a new version just coming out (I was lucky enough to get an advance copy to test) and it is most excellent.
If you do download it, use it and like it, please make a donation to keep it under development.
Tips - turn off all other programmes that will try to automatically connect with the camera - Windows autoplay, LR auto import, Flashpipe etc.
If using a K5 then turn off the LCD panel illumination - menu, C4,22
And that's about it really.
