It looks amazingly comprehensive, especially to someone who's used to ACR in Elements. As a result I've found its easy to get bogged down, although thats probably because I don't know how to use it properly.
One quirk is that I can't find how to shut a file down without closing the whole programme eg if you decide to give up on an image and not save it. This probably isn't a problem because you can just go and open another file instead.
With this and Paint.net or of course Gimp you can now put together a seriously powerful image editing set up for nowt.
I tried this a few months ago, and found it pretty good then, dare say it's even better now.
Have you looked in the manual for the problem you mentioned? :D http://www.rawtherapee.com/index.php?page=manual
Just a word of warning - The Beta version pre version 2.4 worked well with ORF raw files from my Olympus E510, The newly released final version of 2.4 wont load Olympus ORF files.
