And do some artists produce their work with the assistance of photographs they have taken during a sitting ?  :2funny:

Before cameras, many artists produced charcoal or pencil sketches, to take back to the studieo before producing the final colour picture in oils.  ;D

Well Art is  done too by the golden ratio . It's life even a sunflower knows that. If it didn't grow by the goled ratio it would fall apart . The snail's shell is a golden ratio. The spiral. Artist  call it the golden rectangle . The spiral is within that golden rectangle . Rule  of the thirds.

Do tomatoes have to do the same thing, only mine are rubbish this year! My snails seem to have got the idea though.

You will have to inspect the seeds . Probably  it is how ever like all living things a replica of the earth's serface...........75% -80% water just like us  :)
