Tonight is a late night because of the Eurovision - I just love the utter daftness of the whole thing, although the recent semi final thinning out is stopping some of the most enjoyable silliness getting through. I suppose that's progress.
I forgot about Eurovision but I may photograph the TV when its on for the comp... :legit:

Oh no - eurovision - I`d forgotten. Blue are deemed to have a chance because they have fans in Europe - if they still had any here we might have a chance of getting more than nul points!
Anyway been absent too long on here so thought I`d enter the weekend comp with a shot from Haworth 1940`s weekend. As this group seemed intent on blocking the middle of the small cobbled road I thought I`d make them my subject - missed Winston Churchill`s speech cos of them ;)
Great event if anyone is ever in the area - held annuallly on Sat and Sun.
How annoying that nearly everywhere you go in the countryside the landscape is dominated by wind turbines. :( If they put any more up in Scotland I'm sure it will take off and become an island. ( maybe that's the reason ) :2funny:

I don't think they're that much of a blot on the landscape. To be honest I'd rather have a wind turbine near, than an electricity pylon, now they are blots.

Ah OK got you. Not really noticed the noise to be honest. I live by 2 or 3 wind farms, pass them regularly, but don't actually stop by them. Maybe next time when I'm out and have some time I might.
This week the Swifts arrived back but the weather has been cloudy and dull. So I include what would have been a stunning shot if the sun had been shining. :(

Not because it is Eurovision, but because it's not a still of the Greek entry (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jtaD4Ayt0kg&feature=player_embedded) which is, let's be honest, the worst entry in the whole 56 years of this funfest.
It didn't help that the Germans seemed to have got a drunk YTS chap on the mixing desk, on what, judging by the appalling sound throughout, must have been his first day on the job without someone who knew what they were doing to tell him he was effing it up big time.
Too much knowledge there H- makes me think you actually watched it! ;)
Watched it? Watched it? Recorded it my friend, and watch it again - well, the bits I liked anyway.
Eurovision is the TV highlight of the year. Utterly barking, 100% fun. Lay in the beers, a bottle of wine, cheese footballs (OK not cheese footballs), put feet up, switch surround system to overdrive and . . . BLISS :)
To busy to manage a shot of someone getting right in front of the lens just when the shutter button has been pressed for that perfect shot :uglystupid2: :knuppel2:. As for the ESC, what a load of din some of the folk made, and all the flashing strobes plus phsyco colour made me keep the shades on, while looking in the opposite direction, with my fingers firmly poked in my ears, making it to hard to hold the camera for a shot :2funny:
If lucky enough to hand on to my narrow lead in this weeks comp I am afraid I won`t be back around a computer until Monfay teatime and will have to set a theme then so apologies if I cause a delay. Imight try on my phone if need be but dont know how accessible this site is on my android and my stubby fingers combined with small screen tap areas usually means I mess up big style!
Aim to be mostly drinking too much and reminiscing this weekend down in Bristol with old friends fro Uni days that I have not seen for a couple of years

Just this minute got back and see it was a joint win with Dave. I`ll message a suggested theme and set it up if he agrees or comes up with a better one as he did the work last week.
I did manage to down a reasonable amount of alcohol as it happens and had a great time in bristol.
