Title: Runnymede (nr Windsor)
Post by: krennon on December 08, 2010, 10:23:36 AM
Driving through here yesterday (a308 I think it is) lovely area river on one side and trees, hills, Kennedy Memorial etc on the other side....alas as I was on my way to meet my boss I couldn't stop to take photos...but if you are going here don't park at the cafe next to the sports ground, keep heading towards Windsor and about a 1/2 mile up the road from the sports ground is a tearoom with a National Trust car park...free to park for NT members or pay and display...good cup of tea there as well...just wish I could have stopped for 1/2 hour as there was a lovely mist just coming off the trees and some of the trees had frost on them with a very low sun and the mist rising I could've got some cracking shots...will definitely be going back there to get some shots though...

I know exactly where you mean Keith. I have stopped there a couple of times when in the area and taken shots of the canal boats that use that stretch of the river. I have never wandered up to the memorial in fact I wondered what it was for  but now I know ;D
