Looks like I've got to get something wide on my tool for this one.
Are we allowed to cheat with paper cutouts on our ends?
Cheat away H - that`s why I pout "custom" down. Don`t know if I will. I get a lot of vignetting with those DIY bokeh filters I made on my D700. Suppose could always get the old D80 out.
I went with the cut outs myself in the end H - when I remembered I needed to do an entry!
As you can tell I used the snowflake shape. Learned two things today:
1. My diy custom bokeh set does not work with the full frame D700 - too much vignetting and too little light in
2. Don`t worry when security follow you around. This guy was on my case for ages looking / following as I went around the stalls in our German Christmas market - then tapped me on the shoulder to ask how it worked and what the images looked like. I could have made a sale if I wanted to spend the time making some more. ;)
However you do it, it works a treat.
Graham.
Too early here for Christmas lights I'm afraid, so I've just gone with a blurred background.
I've voted - for the picture (word chosen carefully) I liked best. I liked the complete picture for all sorts of reasons, but perhaps the main subject, the blackbird, is what really attracted me to it. Now though, I wonder... given the title of this challenge, should I perhaps have tried to ignore the foreground and judge ONLY the background?

Whoops - thanks for the votes all - I`ll think of a theme over breakfast and post asap.
Congrats Paul - very nice balls you have there.
Well done Jinky. ;D
Thanks for the votes all.
