Ive never tried one, I use a a Manfrotto 393 gimbal head Clicky Linky (http://www.richardpeters.co.uk/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/04/rdx_3136.jpg)

Looks to me that it could be quite usefull at Airshows / Motorsport or similar were you are constantly panning for a shot . I use a Monopod at football matches mainly to take the strain but sometimes disconnect it because it gets restrictive and annoying... Have you found out how much they are yet ?.... :legit:

There web site says, the Basic mount is 119.90 euro, But when you add on the cable relase for your camera and mounting plates it may be best to go for one of the kits at 279.90 euro

I know a few people who have used similar setups for years.
Both were made by local engineering firms, and are made from Aluminium.
I have one lying around in the garage somewhere, cost me £70 about 10 yrs ago to have made.
