Title: Photoshop's 20th birthday
Post by: Mick on February 16, 2010, 11:08:20 AM
On February 10th, 2010, Adobe Photoshop celebrated its 20th birthday.

It's come a long way since the very first version.  ;)  20 Years of Adobe Photoshop (http://www.webdesignerdepot.com/2010/02/20-years-of-adobe-photoshop/)

Thanks for posting. I started with Photoshop 5 and that was big. Interesting to see where plugins came from and that Aldus turned them down! I would guess most of Adobe's profits come from Photoshop.

I have the book "Photoshop Channel Chops" by David Biedney, Bert Monroy and Nathan Moody. Funny that these guys are not mentioned in the development.
BTW this book is a "must read" for PS lovers.

A very interesting story. When something's been developed over the years it's always good to see how it started and how our computing lives are made "easier" by subsequent upgrades.
I'm a CAD man and I've seen a similar scenario unfold with AutoCad. I began my computing career in 1990, having been a pencil man for 20 odd years before that. My first computer had a massive 30MB hard drive and 2MB of RAM - wouldn't get many photos stored on that.  :)

Looks like I missed the party, having returned to Windows after a... "journey of self-discovery".
