Silicon Power. Have announced the imminent launch of a 128 GB 400x CF card. How many of you will be purchasing one, or, maybe two or three ?
i've only just got my first 8gb card - and i was against that because i prefer the smaller sizes (2 x 4gb) but the cost saving was just too much.
I can imagine the medium and large format cameras will have a need, as will the 1Ds MkIV is the 32mb rumours are to be believed.
As day trips do not exhaust my current capacity i have no need for that much space - and when i go away i take the laptop with an EHD and download all to there at the end of the day thus freeing up my cards for the next day.
I also have the option of burning to DVD or CD if i wanted to be really safe.
As a 64gb card costs over £500 you can bet this will be almost £1,400 at launch. :(
I guess the good news is the 8gb & 16gb cards will be coming down in price  I use my 8gb most of the time now, havent filled it up on day out yet, the 4gb's are just backup now, but the weather has meant I havent been taking many pics, so I do see myself getting a 16gb card at some point over the summer.. even 32gb would be overkill for me and the 7D's files..
Oh an 11 hour day in London could see my 5D MkII crucify 16gb of CF space - and that's just shooting in RAW.
But i don't do enough of them to worry (and then i would have to dip into that poor little 2gb card for reserves :) )
Also - i think i would be hard pressed to shoot 560 shots that i thought were all keepers!
I have filled a couple of 16Gb cards in a day - but not very often.
I'm guessing that the larger cards are more for video use - I'm not sure how much space video takes, but I suspect its a fair bit! ;D
probably right mark, 4gb files, the max size on 7D, think 5d2 is the same means around 12 to 20 minutes of vid more or less!
