The subject for next weeks competition is .....

'Frost/ Frosted"

With the current weather, and having seen what some talented people have posted here i thought frost or frosted would make a chilling change. Also, for those living in warmer climes - there is the option of 'frosted glass etc'. The theme is frost or frosted - interpret that as you will, though i think a picture of a box of Kellogs Frosties is being lazy...

Rules:

Pictures to be taken between 00.01am Monday 4th to Sunday 10th January.
Pictures to be posted in the entries thread no later than 23.59pm Monday 11th January.
Poll will be up Tuesday 12th January until 23.59pm Friday 15th January.
Winner to be announced Saturday 16th (winner should post the new topic no later than 23.59 Sunday 17th January).


The Rules for the weekly competition are...

By entering you agree to take responsibility to
post a topic on the Sunday following your declared win
create an entries thread
create a chat thread
create a poll for that weeks comp and declare the winner on the Saturday
(if for any reason there is a problem and no subject is posted by the winner by Monday night admin will advise second place winner to post the topic asap, do the poll etc)

In case of a tie, the first entry posted wins.

photos to be taken during the specified dates, ie sunday xx to Monday xx

pictures to be posted in the entries thread no later than 23.59 Monday night

Poll to be created Tuesday to run till Friday, winner declared Saturday

Editing limits to be specified by the person choosing the competition subject, if nothing is mentioned then there is no limit to editing allowed.

Montage images should only contain images taken within specified dates

Please don't vote for your own entry

Everyone is welcome and comments and critique on the entries are also welcome

I would just like to tank who ever set up thw poll for the weekly comp.
I'm enjoying a touch of medication at the moment that pretty much knocks me out from around 22:00 until when ever the following morning - which in these over night cold spells has been a real joy.
Go to bed as the central heating turns of, wake up as it has turned on and warmed up the house. Can't complain about that.

Steve, don't be despondent. If there is one thing i have learned - it is what the judges choose for a winning vote.

I have won this weekly comp twice and with what i considered to not even be my best shots of all the entries. This is definitely a taking part and challenging yourself type of activity, which i think is healthy for the photographic experience.

I'm surprised that your entry hasn't picked up more votes, thought it would be up there as a contender....still a bit of time left until the voting closes so anything could happen  :)

I thought the voting had ended!! DOH.....

I'm sure when I looked at the poll on my workstation it said it had ended, must be the shock of being back at work doing things to my brain.

Wow...I've actually won a comp....really really chuffed to get so many votes, thanks to everyone that cast a vote in my direction  :tup:

So, I've now got the huge responsibility of choosing a topic and then setting up the poll/vote...should be interesting  :D  I've seen there is a thread on how to st up the poll so in theory I should be ok!
