Water droplets on a fairly large scale. If this does not meet the criteria for the weekend comp feel free to exclude it :)
Fantastic, what spirit, house might catch fire but wait, a photo op :) certainly fine by me for the comp

I will give my boys their due they did a wonderful job keeping the back fence and deck wet whilst I took my photo opportunities ;) just waiting for them to finally give the all clear so I can open the nice bottle of French Bordeaux that I was going to have last night ;D
Had a go. Not to the same standard as bones, I'm lazy with my set ups :D

Edit -- This is my last one I'm trying for this comp. You could be at it for ages and still think you could get a better one. ::)
Decided on this one for my entry, was hoping to have more time to play tommorow, but work becons..

I gave up on the splashes pictures - my efforts this time were poorer than the last time I tried it. A definite back to the drawing board picture for me:
Droplets on a Leaf:

Note to self - get a proper macro lens. :D

Candle droplets
My water droplets were an unmitigated disaster, so I went for wax droplets instead!
Here's my entry for this weeks competition. ;D

Guys & Galls I've made the entry thread the poll thread mainly because Alan hasnt used the CC gallery for his entry.
It would be great if all entries were in the CC gallery to make life easier, or perhaps we should just do it like this anyway. Either way this will work for this week I'm sure
Good luck all, great range of entries, hope you all enjoyed it :legit:
FWIT I think that adding a poll to the entries thread makes a lot of sense - much easier and faster plus you can see any explanatory comments that people have put with the entries.
I agree absolutely with Howard :)
A good point for the future - maybe a good idea for "the other side" where things seem REALLY complicated.
Excellent photos everyone, I promise to try and join in this week.
another vote for this method, or at least give it a try for a few weeks
Well I struggle to do the poll on the other place, except when people use Flickr images, and I struggle on here too so makes little odds to me ;D.
It is nice to see images in the same thread as poll entries though and must save time if it is easy to add poll later.
Did not get time to do a shot this week ut will try next.
Some nice shots making it hard to choose.

Only one problem I can see with this. The winners are supposed to create the poll, and I think members can only start polls on their own threads. So that would mean one of the moderators would have to add the poll every time. Unless I can find a permission setting somewhere.
typical, didn't think of the problems it would cause, admin do enough without having to do the poll every week.
I dont mind taking the responsibility to add the poll each week, (so dont worry about changing permissions Mick).
But, it would still be good to have the entered pics in the CC gallery ;)
If anyone doesnt want to have the comp pics in their normal gallery, start a comp entry gallery in your gallery, hope that makes sense, take alook at mine if not

now starting to use it...

Thanks for pointing that one out Jim. I did post about it when I first added that folder to the gallery. The very reason for the folder was,
1: All the comp images are in one place. so adding them to the poll would be easier.
2: Using the "Embed URL" link in under each image in the gallery the images would all be the same size when posted into the comp threads.
3: People can't comment on or rate the pics.
4: Stops cluttering up your galleries.
Not wishing to be forward, did I win this one? If so I have a topic ready, just let me know . .
Yep, without a doubt - a clear winner according to the terms of the comp.
Unable to get to the computer to announce it due to adverse weather! ;D
Thanks, I'll post the next one later on. Got to get my 'frosty' picture done first.
Forgot to say great shot and deserved win H. Got my vote and for me picture of the month too - who needs a macro when you can get detail like that eh ;) . Well done

Hear hear!
Thank you chaps. Can't help thinking a proper macro would make life a bit easier, especially out in the garden. The bargain basement Tamron is a fine enough lens, but a little on the heavy side, and not fast or close focusing.
As the saying goes -
"It's not what you got it's what you do with it that counts"
You shouldn't believe everything your wife tells you :D
Why - does she prefer something that is lighter, faster and closer focusing? ::)
