Great stuff Keith on both the kids and the award. Well done  ;)

Thanks all it's just a shame that for very obvious reasons I can't share photos of the girls at all as they are absolute crackers (doesn't every parent say that about their kids though  ;)) I definitely aim to be back more often but we are also hoping to move in the next few months, we have a crazy idea to sell our place and my in-laws sell their place in Devon and we all buy a place together around Chessington call us crazy but we think it would work really well, so really have got a full on few months ahead of me, but new camera soon (just waiting for the amazon voucher to come through) and hopefully I can get out and about a bit with it and get back on here. I'll try and drop in as much as I can though in the interim

I Enjoyed a great day out at a Timeline events birds of prey photo day at the Hawk Conservancy at Andover.     :)
still trying to paint with light!!

The Hawk Conservancy is an inspiring place. My father in law worked there for a while as a volunteer.

WMFGT is that SWMBO sanctioned my purchase of a new smartphone*. I haven't had one for a few years, but the really rubbish MP3 player on my H proof 'phone is driving me rather more mad than I usually am. The Crosscall is a good 'phone, tough as old boots and the battery lasts more than a week. So I'll not be getting rid of it, ideal for outdoor activities as it is. Also my UK SIM won't fit in the new 'phone (until I get back to the UK and swap it for a new one) which has dual micro SIM slots.

* can't do a link because the model I'm getting only seems to available in France (and China - it's a Xiaomi Redmi 3 32gb). 13mp camera. Should keep me going for a couple of years.

I still haven't joined the smartphone club.

A friend gave me his smartphone, when he got a new one, and I just returned it.
I have an addictive personality, and am scared to death, I'll never be off line, if I own one.

I only spend about £7 a year on my Pay as You Go phone, and that suits me fine.

I know what you mean Re. I actually use my old smartphone as an MP3 player, no SIM in it. I have two SIMs, a UK PAYG and a French monthly contract.

I actually don't have a data plan (well only 100mb per month, ie nothing), so 4G will be turned off - I'll be using it mostly for music: and the odd phone call or text, of course :)

What mad me feel good today, and yesterday: the replacement double glazing was put in yesterday, the redundant furniture was collected by a charity, I have my spacious living room back.

This rounds off my (just over) two years, of doing up the living area of my apartment. Now only some finishing touches left to do.

Been shoving and pushing the furniture around, to find the ideal set up. Think I succeeded, but all my muscles creak and ache.

Bathroom next. But not quite yet. A bit of living first, I think.

Been quite a long term project for you Reinardina. Time to enjoy it for a while!
Loving this good weather we are having just now.

It was a long term project. I literally took my time, changing my mind as I went along. I had to start all over again, with every change. But I ended up with stuff I fell in love with, and thoroughly enjoy the end result.
Very good therapy too.

I had planned to do nothing for a while, just live a bit, and get some good holidays in, but that bathroom is now bugging me (is that the right expression?), begging for a (much needed) make over.

Been experimenting with a few photobooks over the last couple of years using Groupon / Living Social Deals with a range of people. Huggler, Photobox and Bonusprint seem to be the best of these cheaper offerings as well as My Publisher that I use through Costco. Never , ever use Printerpix. I had the same album done 3 times by them because the colours ranged from ridiculous to off a little and in the end I got a full refund as none were acceptable.  Just used a 100 page Bonusprint offer I had for my US trip and hoping their result will be again as good as their easy to use/ flexible software. For a cheaper offering they put some of the software in wedding album specialists to shame for ease and variation. Worked forever on my edits using just NX2 for a change as Lightroom just wasn`t working for me as well. 2 days after submission it`s on it`s way in the post.
Anyone interested can see it online here but I warn yuo it`s 100 pages. I`m afraid I used this as a memory book of the holiday rather than  a photo display book so have crammed in more pictures than I usually do to get the range of what we did across and get a copy for our fellow travellers too so lots of holiday snaps mainly.

Hope it prints well - but they`ll get to know if it doesn`t  ;)

Great watching the World Series Triathlon Event in Leeds sweeping past the end of our road today. The Brownlees came 1st and 2nd in their home city and we all knew they would to!

When I first glanced the cyclists, I thought you'd shot yesterday's Naked Bike Ride in London. Very disappointed!
