Today I heard a Cuckoo at Earlswood.

Ran around the woods but couldn't find it.  :(

Could it be that it was deliberately trying to avoid you?  :2funny:

I think the big lens scared it off!  :o

Oh . And thanks for looking in

spikeyjen

that's good news Beryl, look after yourself and hoping for a positive outcome from your chemo. Don't forget to pick up the camera every now and then.

WMFG? Made it home alive, despite transiting through Atlanta Ga. on I 75 in the dark. Apparently they don't believe in overhead lighting in GA. And apparently Atlanta is one of those cities that never sleeps. I picked a nightime visit thinking the highway would be quiet. WRONG. All I can say is, I'm am hugely grateful I was travelling North and not South. The southbound lanes were jammed to a standstill with Tractor Trailers ( Lorries?).

Good luck Beryl.

Spinner, we'd probably call those things "artics" as in articulated lorry ???? Glad you made it home OK.

Wishing you the best Beryl.

Sandy

I managed to achieve one of my aims, I got a CPAGB at the weekend, it was a great weekend but a very nervous and tense one waiting for the score of each photo.

Reinardina

Congratulations Sandy. Well done!

Not today, but really easter and most of this week.

Went to Cornwall over easter and used my new lens (100-400 Mk2)  in anger - and I love it - superb for close up shots of flowers and the like, running dogs and portraits - it is so sharp - I think it is as good as my 70-200 F4 and my 400mm f5.6 (Which I will be selling soon) and only beaten by my 100mm 2.8L macro.

And it was my 50th Birthday on Thursday, which is why I have both the 1Dx and the lens - the former I actually had for over a year.......

Two days after mine.  :bcake:

Glad you enjoyed your new lens and it does all you wished for.

Used it in anger at the weekend on a Stage Rally at Mira near Nuneaton. I'm one of the organisers, so can get permission to take pictures - I just can't wander too far from the results office as that is my real job. Anyway, I digress.

The lens was fantastic - the Escort is of the eventual winner - the Metro 6R4 that been in the lead all day, dropped 4minutes on the last stage - a massive 15miler, to end up 12th O/A.
The snap is of Mike Broad - also taken with the 100-400, and ISO25600 - he was very involved in International rallying for many years and co-drove for the best all over the world - and a thoroughly nice bloke! This shot is a Jpeg out of the camera, just reduced in size.
