Grays of Westminster's have a 500mm f/4P IF-ED Nikkor AIS for £2495 or a 600mm f/4 Nikkor IF-ED AIS for £1995. These are manual focus lenses.
They also have a 500mm f/4D AF-S IF-ED Nikkor II (lightweight) for £4695 or a 600mm f/4D AF-S II IF-ED Nikkor at £4995 both auto focus lenses. These are lighter than the AIS versions and may also be water protected.
They also have a 400mm f/2.8D AF-S IF-ED Nikkor Auto focus lens for £3995. I have the AIS version of this lens but it weights 6.3kg and I can't take it out in wet weather. I would consider the 400mm F2.8 and use a 1.4 converter to give me a 540mm F4 or a 2x converter to give me a 800mm F5.6. I use both of these with my 400mm F2.8 AIS lens with great results.
After deciding which lens to buy, you need to phone Greys to order it. As Graham can confirm Greys give a top flight service, only sell Nikon gear and have a vast knowledge of Nikon lenses. ;D

How many zoom lenses do you own Oldboy?
All of them! :legit:
Incidentally. You do know we're talking telephoto here, not zoom. ;)
