What annoyed you today?

Went out for a drive today, partly because the stench associated to my last post, (it's lifting but slowly). As I was driving along a back country road a bird that I think was a Baltimore Oriole flew across my path. I didn't think to bring the camera just wanted to get away from the house for a while. It's doubly annoying because despite the bird sites saying their breeding area includes the Great Lakes, I have never seen one before in my almost 60 yrs. of living here.  :'(
And more, much more than this, I did it my way

It's always the same with nature!  :'(

To add to my annoyance, I was driving around aimlessly and I'm not sure if I could find my way back to where I saw it.  ???

I missed out on a Cardinal yesterday.  My grandmother used to have Blue Jays, Cardinals and Orioles all the time in her back yard.  She was next to a small wooded area and had a creek running behind her place.  This was also in Ingersoll (Ontario), so away from cities.

From looking at Google maps, I think I was somewhere near Banty's Roost Golf course north of Brampton. Humidity's not supposed to be too bad tomorrow, I may head back out that way, with camera this time.  :)

Why don't you input 'aimlessly' into your satnav and it might take you back there!  :2funny: :2funny: :legit:

Cuz, I'm not sure if I was in North aimlessly or South aimlessly at the time.

Intention to prosecute notice for doing 36 in a 30mph zone. Mobile camera in an area I was new to going to a party I did not want to go to after shooting a wedding all day. Got food and free bar all night but as I was driving I had 3 cokes and was good. Little did I know that this was waiting for me. Clean licence for last 12 years and try never to speed  so gutted. Suppose it`s a fair cop but hoping I`ll get the course rather than the points and the fine  :(
Hopefully I`ll be able to persuade a potential client to book me tomorrow for a few extra hours to cover my pain!

Paul, don't you just hate when that happens!

I've been wondering lately what goes on in some people's heads. I've been collecting a few second hand clothes for a family in Romania. We met them a couple of weeks ago when we wre in Bukarest (animal protection cum photo trip) and the lady has been helping us a lot with the strays.
Anyway, I always specify - please no clothes with holes or stains, where the colour is all washed out, jumpers which are all bobbly ...
I have now filled two sacks with stuff to throw away and have had two loads in the washing machine (make-up on collars etc).

ABERS

Being woken up early this morning by helicopters and assorted road vehicles whizzing and whirring around everywhere, with people parking willy nilly anywhere.

Looked on BBC to see if there had been a terrorist incident and discovered that the Olympic torch was leaving Hampton Court to go downriver London.

The next few days will be like living in a ghetto, with cycle races shutting roads everywhere. Must stock up on bread and milk!

I've arranged with my daughters that we throw messages to one another across the barriers. ::)

I appreciate that I may very well be in a tiny minority here, but I will be reading lots over the next few weeks. The only thing worse than wall to wall random sport on the television is wall to wall football.

I guess you are not alone Howard;  I will have more time to sift  :-\ , organise and perhaps delete a few unwanted image files, as its also far too hot for early nights.

Funny thing, this is the only time my wife watches sport, of her own free will. She also becomes very very patriotic.  ::)

Mine too, very un-Canadian of them, isn't it?

I also dread the next few weeks, its not bad enough that you have to watch it, its the inane screaming of the commentators :(

WAMT, my very kind wife bought me tickets for the local air show, red arrows etc so far so good. It took an hour and a half to get in, drove for half an hour at 1 mile an hour to find a parking place only to be pointed into a muddy field, I just said to the guy, where is the way out, and came home. I would have had to walk the entire length of the muddy field in shoes, helping my wife who is due for two knee replacements, then after a day standing about face the return hike, we just gave a sigh and headed home what a waste of time.
