Oddly the built in flash has been ditched and replaced with a GPS module enabling stellar photography with sensor shift - great if you are into night sky shooting. Also has a system claimed to capture colour information on each pixel when used on a tripod for sharper less noisy landscapes.

I would even consider saving up for one if the European price was going to be anything like the US one ($1099, £733) but we have got to add on VAT and the higher costs of selling in the EU, so reckon on the usual changing of the currency sign for the UK price.

Think I'll buy a new bass guitar instead, eventually :)

I stand corrected - £769 for the body:

I had a feeling since the K-S2 was announced that the K3-II wouldn't be far behind. But now I've seen it I'm glad I didn't wait. I love the K-S2 and I'm sure it will do all I ever need (and a lot more). And because I often don't carry my bulky external flash, having one built-in (for fill-in) is something I would miss. Leaving it off the K3-II seems a poor decision.

Leaving the flash off was to make room for the GPS module. I think maybe the standard K3 is the better bet unless you are into serious sky or landscape photography. I know the pop up flash is useful, I use mine for triggering my Metz ring flash, so I would miss it too.

And I agree the specs on the body you have just bought are much more attractive to my way of thinking.
