Title: Hello
Post by: Steve9091 on October 02, 2009, 10:47:57 PM
I'm 31 andcurrently live in Southampton, Hampshire so I am lucky enough to be in easy reach of interesting subjects and places, the sea and coast from Sussex to Devon, ships, the New Forest, the Cotswolds and London.

I currently use a D50 and dream of a D700 and a Sigma 10-20mm, however I have a son whos nearly two and another on the way that prevent me from splashing out.  Hopefully in a few years I will be running my own business and I could afford to splash out, unless that lottery win comes around.

Before kids I used to like going to the States, been to Vegas a few times, also spent time in Houston, LA and NYC but my favourite place is Boston where I have visited many times. Not just America, I also like trips to France and have spent time in Belgium and Holland.  Back home I now like to travel to all the UK beauty spots and outdoor photography is more my thing, I try to experiment with different things however.

Music wise I am now one of these people I never thought I would be, music isnt as good as it used to be. The stuff today apart from The Killers and Kasabian is rubbish comapered to Britpop in the mid 90's (Oasis, Shed 7, Cast, Ocean Colour Scene, Charlatans, Stone Roses). I like a lot of old bands The Who, Small Faces and the Beatles.  In the car I can sometimes have Classic FM on, it's a great soundtrack for driving down a countrylane in the summer, just wish i still had the convertable, now replaced by family car.

I studied Art History and Art, so I suppose my creative streak led me to photography, it's not as messy as charcoal but I also like to get creative in the kitchen and cook up some tasty works of art. My Pork Meatballs and Pepper and Courgette sauce always goes down well and Lamb and Mint burgers seem popular on the BBQ this year.

Photographers I admire are Emily Allchurch and Adam Burton to name a couple, I am sure we will discuss more later.

Anyhow nice to meet you all.

Thanks guys. I will get round to putting the recipe on here soon and yes love the Who, I have seen them twice at the Isle of Wight festival several years back and again at Beaulieu in 2006. Didnt actually realise it was that long ago.

Ye gods - I remember the Who when they first started - Can't Explain was the first hit was'nt it? Of course Keith Moon was the drummer then - now he really was a mad $£$*%! 8)
