SILHOUETTES - Chat thread Weekly competition 4-11 Sept

This week's theme is Silhouettes. We all have taken a silhouette shot by accident (I am sure) But taking one on purpose requires a bit more thought. There are loads of ways to interpret a silhouette, it does not have to be a black and white one or a complete black silhouette. Giving a bit of detail in the silhouette can be far more interesting. A silhouette can also be interpreted as a rim light around an object/person. Have fun and experiment.
Pictures to be taken preferably between now and Sunday 11 September 2016, 23:59, or enter one from your Personal / Camera Cranium Archives if you prefer.
Pictures to be posted in the entries thread no later than 23:59pm Monday 12 September 2016.
Poll will be up Tuesday 13 September 2016.
Winner to be announced Saturday 17 September 2016.

The Rules for the weekly competition are...

By entering you agree to take responsibility to

Post a topic on the Sunday (or sooner) following your declared win
Create an entries thread
Create a chat thread
Create a poll for that weeks comp and declare the winner on the Saturday
(if for any reason there is a problem and no subject is posted by the winner by Monday night admin will advise second place winner to post the topic asap, do the poll etc)

In case of a tie, the first entry posted (or earliest archive shot if applicable) wins.

After the photo shoot at the Steam Museum at Swindon last week I was lucky to have plenty to choose from for the theme of this weeks competition as I have not had the opportunity to get out with my camera . I finally settled for Kiss Goodbye!!
still trying to paint with light!!

I managed to get my dear wife in front of the camera. I had to promise it was a silhouette because she is camera shy.
Shot in front of a white sheet, with a red gel over the flash between model and background.

An old re-worked one from me. Too much painting and decorating to do this week! I didn`t know this family but liked their natural layouit with flaf and upturned surf board after a hard days surf.

Another oldie from me after another busy week. Next week is looking pretty crammed too.

This was 5 years ago, my daughter standing on the coast overlooking the Med.

The image was re-edited with the latest version of Photo Director from Cyberlink, which I got for a very attractive price. It is a lot faster than Lightroom and does everything that I need it to (so far). It even has layer editing. I think that this in conjunction with On1 that I have had for some time will be more than good enough as an alternative. I am seriously thinking of changing my DAM from Lightroom and my image editor from Photoshop when Affinity is available for Windows.
