Title: Cheap tripods
Post by: Jonathan on June 30, 2010, 08:30:15 AM
[Couldn't see the old "spotted a bargain" thread...]

Picked this up on another forum so I don't know how good they are but apparently Aldi have full sized tripods for £12.  Apparently suspiciously similar to these http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.203-9465.aspx which looks like the first tripod I ever bought.

I suspect that the gears will explode if you overtighten them with a heavy camera on (mine certainly did....) but they should be cool for a compact.

As you said, ideal for a compact, or any lightweight camera that has no moving parts, (Mirror, Shutter etc).

I'm guessing it has a bendy plastic head, lol..  :legit:

Its the same one I bought from 7dayshop around 4 yr ago and I still have it and use for indoor shooting.
I have used the D50 and the 70-300vr lens with no issues.
It also ok for popping in the suitcase for jollidays for those who are into landscapes etc
It also comes with a bag which even some of the "top" makes do not supply
I did drop it once and the handle for the centre column snapped off, plus I was trying light trails one night and a wagon went past me and the whole thing moved about 2 foot.
