i suppose by asking the question i sort of know the answer but would you buy a 16g/32g sd card of ebay, have you bought one and it was fine or am i best just paying shop prices?

in a word - 'no'  :uglystupid2:

You don't have to pay shop prices, but there are reputable web dealers will save you a fortune over shop prices, 7dayshop often gets a mention - i use one of the Amazon guys based in the Channel Islands... All reliable and noticeably cheaper than a shop...

Mick

I often use www.7dayshop.com  or even http://www.mymemory.co.uk/  both places regularly have deals on memory cards etc.

7 Day shop and My Memory are fine, I bought of ebay and later found they were fake cards that had an average performance, I still use them but they are not the super fast chips they were supposed to be. I contacted the seller and was told I was talking rubbish, so why do they all have the same serial number ????

Hi, "Guest" long time no see, how are you

+1 for MyMemory.com.

Be wary of 3rd party sellers in the likes of Amazon etc. even they have been known to pass on fake memory cards.

I use to old addage "if it seem too cheap to be true, it usually is"

Jonathan

I got one of these.  http://www.7dayshop.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=777_6&products_id=111247

Seems alright.  Not that I use SD for anything important ;)

FWIW Sandisk serial numbers are actually batch numbers.  Cards made at the same time will generally have the same number.
It's Guest's round

7dayshop came up trumps with a good price, it's for a gopro digital camcorder so i'll need a decent amount of gig

Yes, you're right Irv, it is a good deal - but how much would it cost to sen it to the UK i wonder? And would that undo the bargain?
