I must admit, when I had to send my MkIII back to canon, it was picked up on the Thursday, and came back the following Tuesday. All sorted!

Great service - though I have heard that Canon Canada is really bad. On a par with Nikon UK service by the sounds of it - unless Nikon have repaired yours - Canon Canada have a rep of not doing anything!!  :-[

Right up to monday it said 'awaiting repair' - then it said 'waiting for parts' - now it's been passed to city link and should be back tomorrow. If it had said they were waiting for spares earlier I would'nt have minded because that can't be helped, but when it seemed it had'nt been looked at nearly two weeks after they said it would be completed I felt a bit miffed. Of course all the outdoor shows are over now.

Working in Chiswick, West London and found out I was working only a couple of doors away from Chiswick cameras. I managed to pick up a siggy 17-50 f2.8 for £199 (s/hand good condition). Now have to have a play to see how good it is (more like if I can do it justice ;D) :)

How come there are no 'I had to send my lens/body back to Pentax/Sony?' stories I wonder. Do they just never break? I'd be interested to hear any feedback on this, especially on Pentax (which is my weakness): you never know . . .

Well done on your purchase Irv, look forward to seeing the results.

Nice one Alf, I gave up about 15 years ago and have always been glad of it. Doesn't food taste nice now eh?
You've done well and have broken the back of it, don't cave in again!

I took this shot on Wednesday and printed it ( A3+ ) then mounted & framed it as a gift for my Mothers 82nd birthday. She said she was pleased, impressed & proud. I felt a tear in my eye  :'( which can't be right for a hard faced northerner!.  My Dad would of thought I'd gone soft !

Anyway you dont get anywhere near that sort of responce from paying customers ! ( Priceless ) ......... :legit:

Well done. Think of the money you've wasted on other things instead . .

I gave up 11 years ago. Trouble was I then developed a taste for red wine  :)

Yeah SB900 went weird on me.  Posted it Tuesday, they got it Wednesday, I got it back Friday all fixed.  If I hadn't I would have had a loan flash.  (BTW they put it down to using it in heavy rain causing corrosion of one of the contacts but they still fixed it for free)
It's Guest's round

It's a good lens Irv. I've got one and use as my 'kit" lens. Having f2.8 is really useful.

Getting my 8gb memory card (kingston x133), circular polariser and cable remote in the post this week, all from www.7dayshop.com and all for £26.00, tried the cable remote it works fine (the Sony one is between £35 & £45 WHY???) The cp I haven't tried yet...waiting for a sunnyish day (didn't have a chance to go out at lunchtime unfortunately) and the memory card is a memory card took a few shots with it, seems to be fine....hopefully might get a chance to try the cp at the weekend....off to the London Transport Museum as the wife has to do a risk assessment before she can do a nursery trip there.....so hopefully I'll be able to get some nice shots in and around Covent Garden as well as the museum itself....
